Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• You must be a graduate from any recognised university to apply for Territorial Army Officer Recruitment 2026. There is no specific stream or subject requirement — any UG degree qualifies.

Employment Condition

• This is a critical requirement that many candidates overlook. You must be gainfully employed at the time of application. This means you should have a regular civilian job, business, or self-employment. Members of the Regular Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, GREF (General Reserve Engineer Force), Para Military, and similar forces are not eligible to apply.

Territorial Army Officer Salary 2026

• One of the most attractive aspects of joining the Territorial Army is the pay scale — it’s on par with Regular Army Officers when you are embodied for training or military service.

Pay Scale as per 7th CPC (Pay Matrix)

• Commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant. Pay and allowances, including House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and Travel Allowance (TA), will be the same as Regular Army Officers during the period of embodiment for training or military service.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Exam Pattern

The Territorial Army Commission 2026 exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 2 hours duration, conducted as a single session.

Negative Marking

For every wrong answer, one-third (0.33) marks will be deducted. Questions left unattempted are treated as unanswered and carry no penalty.

Syllabus Highlights

• Reasoning: Logical sequences, number patterns, statements, figures, and letter-based problems at graduate level.
• General Knowledge: Current affairs, everyday science, history of India, geography, and general awareness — no special study required.
• English: Grammar, comprehension, and workmanlike use of words.

The standard of the paper is equivalent to what a graduate of an Indian university is expected to know.

Selection Process

Territorial Army Officer Recruitment 2026 follows a two-stage selection procedure:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) — Objective type paper (Reasoning + GK + English) held on 12 July 2026. Only candidates who clear this exam are called for the next stage.
2. Psychological Aptitude Test & Intelligence Test at Selection Board — Candidates who pass Stage 1 are detailed for SSB-type testing at Army Selection Centres.
3. SSB Interview — Stage 2 candidates who qualify in psychological and intelligence tests are admitted to the SSB Interview.
4. Medical Examination — Conducted at the SSB stage. All medical requirements must be met.
5. Merit List & Final Selection — Final merit is drawn based on total marks secured in the Territorial Army Commission examination and the Service Selection Board (SSB) tests. Male and female candidates are placed on separate order of merit lists.
