KRCL Trainee Apprentices Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (Passed 2021-2025)
- Category I – Graduate Apprentices (Engineering): BE/BTech from AICTE-recognized university in Civil/ Electrical (or sub-streams)/ Electronics (or sub-streams)/ Mechanical (or sub-streams).
- Category II – Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Diploma from recognized board/university in Civil/ Electrical (or sub-streams)/ Electronics (or sub-streams)/ Mechanical (or sub-streams).
- Category III – Graduate Apprentices (General Stream): BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/BMS/BJMC/BBS from UGC-recognized university.
- No additional weightage for higher qualifications.
Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 25 Years
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL (subject to certificates at DV).
Additional Requirements
- Valid approved NATS ID (register on NATS portal).
- No previous/current apprenticeship under Apprentices Act.
- Physical fitness certificate from Govt. Doctor (Assistant Surgeon rank) in prescribed format; final medical by KRCL authority.

KRCL Trainee Apprentices Selection Process
Selection will be based on:
- Merit List: Aggregate percentage of all semesters/years (no rounding, no weightage per semester).
- Tie-Breaker: Older age, then earlier matriculation exam pass date.
- Shortlisting: 3 times the vacancies called for first round of Document Verification (DV); more if needed.
- Final medical fitness by KRCL.
No written exam or interview. Candidature cancelled if discrepancies found.
KRCL Trainee Apprentices Stipend
- Graduate Apprentices: ₹9,000 per month (₹4,500 Govt share via DBT + ₹4,500 KRCL share).
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹8,000 per month (₹4,000 Govt share via DBT + ₹4,000 KRCL share).
- No lodging/boarding provided; candidates arrange own.
