Most of the officers & men are professionally trained mountaineers and skiers. It is the first responder for natural disaster in the Himalayas. It has been carrying out numerous rescue and relief operations. Ealier ITBPF had first conducted this test on 29 March, 2015 but later it was cancelled. Re-exam was held on 11 October, 2015.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) had conducted re-exam for recruitment of 229 posts of Head Constable (Telecom) examination. Exam of Head Constable (Telecom) was held on 11 October 2015.

ITBPF was raised on 24 Oct,1962 and currently conveyed on border guarding duties covering 3488 km of Indo-China Border and manning Border Outposts on heights boiling over from 9000′ to 18700′ in the Western, middle and Eastern Sector of the Indo-China Border. It conducts several examinations every year for constables and other posts.
